Published on 1 February 2020
As the Semaine Rimouskoise de l’Environnement approaches, the Coopérative de solidarité Paradis invites the general public to attend the conference “Emergence of a global culture of ecology, where are the artists?
This free 5 to 7 conference-discussion by Loïc Fel, co-founder of COAL, will be broadcast live from the Monument National, allowing everyone to participate. What are the findings and what do artists imagine in the context of ecological transition and solidarity?
The association COAL art and ecology was created in France in 2008 by professionals of contemporary art, ecology and research in order to promote the emergence of a culture of ecology.
In a multidisciplinary and innovative spirit, COAL mobilizes artists and cultural actors on societal and environmental issues in collaboration with institutions, NGOs, scientists and companies and supports the essential role of creation and culture in raising awareness and implementing concrete solutions.
These connections between culture and sustainable development are now the subject of a real international dynamic in which COAL participates as the first French actor. COAL reveals and puts culture on the agenda of the ecological transition.
This conference will also be an opportunity to present the COAL Art and Ecology Awards, which are accepting nominations until March 1, 2020.
Loïc Fel
Loïc Fel, is co-founder of the agencyinfluence for good, of the program Contremarques and of COAL. Doctor of Philosophy, his thesis in epistemology of sciences, published by Champ Vallon (2008) under the title L’esthétique verte, dealt with ecology and environmental aesthetics. Convinced that philosophy cannot be reduced to research, it is in the implementation of the ecological transition that he puts his convictions to the test. With influence for good, it assists developers in the implementation of sustainable cities, and through influence campaigns, it promotes financial, luxury and foundation players with more virtuous practices in order to bring together the interests of the economic world, the planet and society. With the Contremarques program, he defends a more responsible consumer culture.
Loic Fel’s visit is made possible thanks to the invitation of Recto-Verso productions in the framework of the Mois Multi and the support of the French Consulate.
The event is co-organized by Écoscéno, LA SERRE – arts vivants and the National Theatre School of Canada.
