Guest curator of the 2015-2016 season, Loic Fel and Lauranne Germond, from the association COAL, will present at the Centre Europ\u00e9en d’Action Artistique Contemporaines a cycle of three exhibitions entitled Act Global Think local<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active since 1988, the Centre Europ\u00e9en d’Actions Artistiques Contemporaines is located in the heart of a popular university district of Strasbourg. Its mission is to be a place of research for emerging creation and a space of sharing for all those curious about today’s art. It has also created a contemporary art route with thirty-six monumental sculptures installed in the two Alsatian departments, including works by Jimmy Durham, Giulio Paolini, Claudio Parmiggiani, Sarkis, Bernar Venet, etc. The CEAAC is the initiator of an international program of exchanges and residencies with institutions in Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Canada and Korea.<\/p>\n

Guest curators for the 2015-2016 season, Loic Fel and Lauranne Germond, from the association COAL, will present a cycle of three exhibitions at CEAAC entitled Act Global Think local. Echoing a maxim generally attributed to Ren\u00e9 Dubos, and stated in 1972 for the first United Nations Conference on the Environment, this precept of action embodies above all an ethical posture. A posture which the artists seized, strong of the idea that the art has the capacity to express the universal of an idea in the particularity of a work. With the magnitude of the environmental crisis and its social and economic implications, this thinking renews the formal language down to the artist’s place in society. Systemic, Open Source and Ultralocal<\/em>, the three exhibitions in the Act Global Think local<\/em> cycle will open in March 2015, June 2015 and June 2016.<\/p>\n
