\nFor the second consecutive year, COAL accompanies the Greenflex – Ethicity group in an action for sustainable development through art, with the creation of a thematic collection of contemporary art.<\/p>\n

The founder of Ethicity, Elisabeth Reiss, a well-known figure in the world of sustainable development, and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Rodriguez, CEO of the Greenflex-Ethicity group, have decided to mobilize and promote art as a lever for changing representations and behaviors in favor of environmental awareness.<\/p>\n

To do this, they called on COAL, the Coalition for Art and Sustainable Development, which is accompanying them in this process. COAL’s mission is to create a thematic collection of “art and sustainable development” and to develop synergies between Greenflex-Ethicity on the one hand, and the artistic world on the other, in order to promote projects related to the preservation of the environment, the mobilization of citizens and their awareness.<\/p>\n

The new works in the “Art and Sustainable Development” collection<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The artistic direction of the collection is assured by Lauranne Germond, COAL’s director and curator. The collection, inaugurated on January 30, 2013 in the company’s new premises located in the 9th arrondissement, initially brought together works by Thierry Boutonnier, Lucie Chaumont, Camille Goujon, Malgorzata Lempicka-Brian and Lucy + Jorge Orta, as well as a partnership with the latter around Passport Antarctica<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2014, four new works enter the collection, by artists David Buckland, Hehe, Johann Rivat <\/strong>and Claire Tabouret<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All these artists engage a deep reflection on the consequences, direct or indirect, of Man on his environment. They move and stage, through various practices, the main current ecological issues. David Buckland, founder of Capefarewell and artist committed to the fight against global warming, and Claire Tabouret address in their works the issues related to climate change, from melting ice to natural disasters that result, while Johann Rivat and the duo Hehe question our current modes of energy consumption, from nuclear power to waste sorting.<\/p>\n
