TREES, Nature abused, Château de la Bourdaisière

In the heart of the Loire Valley, the Château de la Bourdaisière aims to become an example of responsible eco-renovation, an exhibition space dedicated to raising awareness of sustainable development and an experimentation ground for artists concerned with environmental protection.

In this spirit, the exhibition cycle ARBRES is inaugurated this summer, in partnership with the association COAL. Fifteen renowned contemporary artists are invited to use the trees in the park as supports for creating art installations.

Throughout the summer, their work will raise public awareness of the need to protect our environment. “Artistic language is another key to arouse the introspection that men must have on their own action”, confides Louis Albert de Broglie, the owner of the castle. In October, the “ART & NATURE” prize of La Bourdaisière will be awarded to the best work by a jury composed of art and ecology professionals (including the Ministry of Sustainable Development, the ONF, the WWF…)
