Art and biosphere, Birth of a consciousness

Art and biosphere, Birth of a consciousness

April 20-22, 2016The Ecole supérieure d’Art de Aix-en-Provence invites COAL alongside artists, designers, architects, specialists and researchers to present and confront their projects and research during meetings and round tables. The interaction between these actors leads to an interdisciplinary confrontation and aims to inspire audiences to think differently about the relationship with our ecosystems.

For half a century, artists have been questioning and creating with and around our biosphere, from the macrocosm of galaxies to the microcosm of living cells, passing through landscapes and biotopes. Their aesthetic responses are multiple, ranging from poetic to concrete solutions. They invite us to reconsider the condition of man within nature, but also nature itself seen as a living entity.
