PARADE PARURE PAYSAGE

PARADE PARURE PAYSAGE invites us to a sensory and spiritual immersion, where landscape becomes ritual and art becomes celebration. The duo of visual artist Vanina Langer and culinary artist Magali Wehrung celebrate our connection to nature and the cycles that shape it. Representing the union of body and earth, they summon seven deities of fertility and the living, adorned with flavors that the spectator can savor, in order to make the world, and celebrate life with delectation. PARADE PARURE PAYSAGE is a dialogue woven between the plastic arts and textiles, ceramic design and culinary art, performance and ritual, sketching out a baroque and abundant celebration, vibrant with joy and vitality.

PARADE PARURE PAYSAGE draws on popular traditions and pagan festivals, reactivating ancestral practices that bear witness to another way of inhabiting the Earth, no longer as predators, but as allies and protectors of the living. A process of regeneration that is not only biological, but also a different way of caring, a gesture of repairing the world, a commitment to what sustains us, as Emilie Hache so aptly reminds us in her book “generation.

Our troubled times call for the need to reinvent states of being in the world that are aware of planetary realities and finite, limited resources, without sinking into gloom. On the contrary, the work of Vanina Langer and Magali Wehrung revives the art of abundance, ornament and complexity, filled with color and emotion. In so doing, they celebrate what makes us flesh beings, too often sacrificed on the functionalist altar of modernity.

The works on display embody this joyful and generous imagination, where women wear sweet ornaments, headdresses and chewy costumes, adorned with numerous fertility symbols such as the house, fruit, flowers and eggs. Bread, a universal symbol of life, is used here as a material to be shaped before being shared. Cooking becomes metamorphosis, alchemy, linking us to the elements and the age-old gestures of sharing. Costume art harks back to popular traditions, while ceramics embody the memory of the earth. These are all elements that link humanity to nature, recognized as an active force, an otherness with which we must come to terms, in a historical, spiritual and relational continuity.

Much more than an exhibition, PARADE PARURE PAYSAGE becomes a landscape in its own right, a time-space for our relationship with materials, shapes and flavors. The Parade Gloria is its most vibrant expression: a dance of renewal in which the feminine and the seasons, art and fertility, intertwine. This cosmic symphony traces the path to a possible harmony with the Earth, turning collective joy into a political force.
