INAUGURATION OF THE NEW MANTRA MURAL FOR THE WALLS OF AUDUBON

INAUGURATION OF THE NEW MANTRA MURAL FOR THE WALLS OF AUDUBON

The artist Mantra unveils a monumental fresco, populated with birds and vegetation, in the heart of the new Nida third-party space in Issy-les-Moulineaux, as an invitation to travel through the seasons over the floors of the building. It represents the local endangered species of the region of Issy-les-Moulineaux, chosen by the artist with the help of the LPO Île-de-France. The mural was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon, April 15, in the presence of the artist, COAL and the LPO.

For this fifth fresco of the Murs d’Audubon realized in France, seventh in Europe, the artist Mantra was invited by COAL and Altarea to invest the new third place Nida, in Issy-les-Moulineaux. Both artist and naturalist, like Jean-Jacques Audubon, passionate about entomology and butterflies, Mantra deploys a very precise line that plays with sharpness and blur.

Against a backdrop of lush vegetation through the seasons, many colorful birds populate the grand staircase of Nida. They were chosen by the artist according to a selection of locally threatened species on the territory of Issy-les-Moulineaux, made by the LPO Ile-de-France. The Kingfisher, the Barn Swallow, the Goldfinch, the Bullfinch, the Long-tailed Tit, the Spotted Woodpecker, accompany the visitor’s ascent, as an invitation to travel, to the rhythm of life, and as an invitation to action, in reverse of its disappearance.
