From June 17 to 26, 2022, the festival Les Nuits des Forêts was back everywhere in France!
For this second edition, the festival could once again count on the numerous participations of artists, creators, performers, actors of the cultural and educational sectors, thinkers and poets, to weave an artistic and sensitive program in the heart of the forest.

A national festival for the general public, the Nuits des Forêts invites you to discover the forest near you and meet the people who live in it, cultivate it, protect it and are inspired by it…
At a time of climate change, forests are at the heart of social debates: droughts, tree dieback and diseases, forest fires, carbon offsetting and uses of wood … Because forests are a common heritage, the Nuits des Forêts wish to create times of exchange, bringing together forest stakeholders, wood professionals, but also experts and scientists, thinkers and philosophers, artists, and inviting all citizens to mobilize on these issues. Through the encounter between culture and nature, this event intends to raise society’s awareness of forestry issues and promote new relationships with the living, on the scale of each territory.

Reweaving sensitive links, creating new narratives
By re-enchanting the forests for the duration of a festival, we hope to generate long-term individual and collective commitments, but also joyful and optimistic feelings. To awaken our deep responsibility as well as our wild nature.
So, let’s be inspired by traditional societies, let’s sing, let’s dance, let’s form new tribes, let’s live the nature that surrounds us! And we will undoubtedly find this collective inner strength, to finally better inhabit our world.
Because forests are a common heritage, the Nuits des Forêts are a time for exchange, bringing together forestry actors, wood professionals, but also artists, experts and scientists, thinkers and philosophers, …
In 2021, Les Nuits des Forêts gathered more than 200 artistic experiences, and nearly 150 forest owners and managers made us discover their forests.
For its second edition in 2022, the festival welcomed 15,000 forest lovers at 146 partner sites throughout France. Of the almost 400 events offered, this rich program included 200 educational walks with forestry specialists, 170 artistic experiences, 150 evening events including 40 bivouacs, and 50 events dedicated to well-being such as forest baths or meditative walks…
Sensory immersions to meet the wild, nocturnal experiences between dreams and magic, guided discoveries of forest territories, monumental works between the trees, educational explorations around the forest issues… The Nuits de Forêts festival intends to continue its project of re-enchantment and awareness of our forests!

The association Nuits des Forêts…
is developing a creative, committed and participatory project for the forests!
By encouraging dialogue between forests and the arts, Nuits des Forêts wishes to raise society’s awareness of forest issues and promote new relationships with the living world, on the scale of each territory.
To invite society to better know and understand French forests, the association initiates actions to raise awareness and mobilize citizens, with the aim of contributing to a new social project for forests.
The Nuits des Forêts association was co-founded by Paul Jarquin, President of REI Habitat and of the national interprofession of the forestry and wood industry Fibois France, Lauranne Germond, co-founder and director of the COAL association, and Clara Anguenot, ecologist, dancer and forest enthusiast, who is responsible for the Nuits des Forêts association.
