THE FOREST NIGHTS

Since 2020 – All over France
The Forest Nights is the first nationwide festival aimed at the general public. It is an invitation to discover the forest close to home and to meet the men and women who live in it, cultivate it, protect it and are inspired by it.
The Forest Nights Festival is supported by the Nuits des Forêts association. COAL is a partner and artistic advisor for the Forest Nights and is responsible in particular for the programming of the large site of the Forest of Fontainebleau. Because forests are a common heritage, the Forest Nights wish to create times of exchange, bringing together forest actors, wood professionals, but also experts and scientists, thinkers and philosophers, artists, citizens and invite to mobilize together on these issues. Through the encounter between culture and nature, this event aims to raise society’s awareness of forestry issues and promote new relationships with the living world, at the level of each territory.
The Nuits des Forêts association, co-founded by Paul Jarquin, Clara Anguenot and Lauranne Germond, is the result of a collective reflection between actors from the forestry and wood industry and the cultural and artistic sector. It aims to invite society to take up the issue of the forestry crisis by initiating actions to raise awareness and mobilise the public on forestry issues.
